PT. Pelayaran Menaratama Samudra Indah was founded with the purpose of providing vessels to support the growing need of offshore vessels in Indonesia. Since inception in 1989, MSI provided drilling barges for offshore heavy mineral exploration.
With the given geography of Indonesia, MSI saw the need for transporting bulk materials from one island to another quickly and started to provide tugboats with flat top barges. Combining experiences in heavy mineral exploration and the need for a safe working and accommodation space for offshore operation, PT MSI sprung ahead with determination to fulfill this need by providing accommodation work barges.
